Which law schools are most underrated and overrated? Prof has an answer, based on SSRN downloads
A law professor is evaluating law schools based on a different metric—the number of faculty articles downloaded from the Social Science Research Network.
Law professor Paul Caron of Pepperdine University has named the most undervalued and overvalued law schools, based on the spread between their peer reputation in U.S. News rankings and SSRN all-time downloads. He lists the top 50 at TaxProf Blog.
In his rankings, the top five undervalued schools are:
1) Thomas Jefferson
2) Suffolk
3) Chapman
4) New York Law School
5) St. Thomas in Minnesota
The five most overvalued schools are:
1) Baylor
2) City University of New York
3) Howard
4) Oregon
5) Oklahoma
