Lynn France thought her husband might be having an affair. But she found out from Facebook, she says, that the situation was even worse.

Although Lynn France, who is now 41, had married John France in Italy in 2005, wedding photos posted on the social networking site showed had married a woman in her mid-20s at Disney World in Orlando in 2008, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

And he had a legal right to do so, his lawyer says, because John France’s 2005 marriage—reportedly in a Catholic church in Italy, pursuant to an Italian marriage license—wasn’t valid. And, he tells the newspaper, she knew the destination wedding was just for show.

She told her side of the story on NBC’s Today earlier this week. John France, 63, made an appearance on the show with his attorney, Gary Williams, this morning.

The parties are now battling over whether to divorce— if a divorce is even necessary—in Ohio, or pursue the paternity and parenting-plan filing John France made in Hillsborough County in Florida. He says he’s willing to share custody of his two young sons with Lynn France, so long as his Florida home is their residence for school purposes.

“It’s going to be hard to co-parent with a man who makes these outlandish statements,” predicts her lawyer, Andrew Zash.
