A prominent BigLaw firm didn't pay a number of bills from a longtime consultant and marked up some by 25 percent before passing them on to clients, a vendor contends in a Washington, D.C., lawsuit seeking $530,000.
But a Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr partner says the markup claim isn't true, reports a Legal Times article reprinted by New York Lawyer (reg. req.).
An attorney for the firm is seeking to have a number of the invoices for which payment is sought dismissed on statute-of-limitations grounds.
The alleged unpaid bills were for work performed between 2003 and 2007. Econometrica International Inc. has reportedly been a consultant for the firm for more than 20 years.
