A lesbian woman who was allegedly bounced from the women’s restroom of a a New York City restaurant because she didn’t look female enough has reportedly settled her discrimination case for $35,000.

The eatery, Caliente Cab Company, will also revise its workplace policies to say that discrimination based on gender identity is not permitted, and will institute a non-gender-based employee dress code, according to the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund, which represents the plaintiff, Khadijah Farmer. The group announced the settlement today, reports Newsday.

A New York Times City Room blog post says the transgender group is also being paid $15,000 in legal fees.

Although the restaurant, which is located in Greenwich Village, disputes Farmer’s account of the incident, it is “happy the matter is resolved amicably without engaging in protracted litigation,” Caliente Cab Company says in a written statement, according to Newsday.

Details of the restroom incident are discussed in an earlier ABAJournal.com post.
