A woman has sued a used-car dealer in greater Detroit and the company that financed her 2006 Ford Expedition, contending that she wasn’t told when she purchased the vehicle used that it had once held a corpse.

“They bought the car while it was still cold out in March,” attorney Dani Liblang, who represents Margarita Salais, tells the Detroit News.”The warmer it got, the worse the smell got.”

The dealer didn’t respond to the newspaper’s request for comment on her Oakland County Circuit Court complaint.

However, the Associated Press reports that the dealer’s general sales manager said the car didn’t stink when it was sold to Salais.

Suburban Ford of Sterling Heights “would love to get to the bottom of it,” sales manager Jim Elder said.
