News of a planned mass lateral move of three-quarters of Bingham McCutchen’s partners to Morgan Lewis & Bockius has quickly been followed by news of layoffs at Bingham’s global services center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Unnamed employees told WKYT they got layoff notices Tuesday that will take effect on Friday.

However, an earlier Legal Intelligencer (sub. req.) story suggested that Morgan Lewis might employ some or substantially all of the lawyers and staff at the back-office center in Lexington. It relies on unidentified sources.
