CORRECTED: A magazine for the well-to-do is coming out with its annual list of the top 100 lawyers for the well-to-do.

Texas lawyer John Bergner announced in a press release this week that he’s been named in the list again, along with two other lawyers from Texas. Lawyers from Schiff Hardin and WilmerHale also made the list.

Worth’s list of U.S. lawyers focuses on experts in trusts and estates, philanthropy, elder care, matrimonial law and other practice areas of use to wealthy individuals. Plus, in addition to “exceptional legal expertise,” the editors who compile the list “looked for lawyers with great tact, discretion and stellar interpersonal skills, enabling them to explain a client’s options in the face of incredibly complicated legal and psychosocial issues,” Worth explained in a 2006 press release.

However, as the magazine’s 2006 100-lawyer list (PDF) made clear, there’s another requirement, too: These are lawyers who represent clients with lots of money. The median net worth of these lawyers’ current clients ranges from $2 million to $200 million. The wealthiest client represented tops the list with $10 billion.

The lawyer list will appear in the magazine’s December issue.
