Tapes of an accused terrorist played in the trial of a physician who is alleged to be a co-conspirator reveal a plot that was long on talk and short on actions, according to the New York Times.

In the tapes, Tarik Shah explains how to “rip somebody’s throat out” and complains that the U.S. has “been killing Muslims on a consistent basis for almost 200 years.” The tapes were played in the trial of physician Rafiq Sabir.

Shah pleaded guilty to conspiracy last month; two other men have also entered guilty pleas in the case. The government contends the conspirators plotted to provide combat training and medical help to Al Qaida.
