Recording artist and activist Wyclef Jean thanked lawyers at DLA Piper for their legal work with a concert Monday staged in the multi-purpose room of the firm’s Manhattan offices.

Jean told partner David Hryck about his idea for a concert during lunch on Friday, the Am Law Daily reports. Three days later, the firm was ready. Jean performed with his six-piece band for an hour and 15 minutes in front of about 200 fans.

Jean put on the concert to thank DLA Piper for its work for him as a client and for its pro bono contributions to his foundation, Yele Haiti. Hryck told the Am Law Daily the concert was “unbelievable.”

“No one has ever seen anything like that at a law firm,” he said. “It was a good vibe.”
