Bad Hair Day Creates Sleek New Style for McCartney’s Divorce Lawyer

Despite her post-courtroom claims of being pleased with the not quite $50 million divorce settlement she was awarded, Heather Mills doused lawyer Fiona Shackleton, who represents her estranged husband, Paul McCartney, with a glass of water immediately after the ruling was announced yesterday, the London Times reports.
Yet the bad hair day for Shackleton, who is shown entering the courtroom with a fluffy blond bouffant and emerging looking as though she had just stepped out of the shower, ironically left the British solicitor looking better than ever, the media is reporting in detailed accounts of the incident.
Shackleton's new do was "sleek, smooth and a little bit sexy," writes the London Times. By contrast, the standard-issue professional coif with which Shackleton entered the courtroom was "stuck in a style rut," the newspaper contends.
"Relying on volume—and too much of it—plus a fringe that resembled a pair of draped curtains—is all too common amongst women of Shackleton’s age and professional stature," the article continues. "Too fearful to experiment with something more modern and, dare we say it, sexy, Shackleton remains within the confines of conformity and sticks to a hairstyle that harks back to the 80s. Indeed, this was probably the last time she changed her hairstyle. ‘Splashgate’ was a blessing in disguise."
