A company that operates bankruptcy and divorce law websites is apparently profiting from the economic downturn.

Infra-Strategy reports an uptick in visits to two of its websites that link clients to divorce and bankruptcy lawyers, the Wall Street Journal’s Business Technology blog reports. Infra-Strategy’s CEO Edmund Scanlan said October visits were up 57 percent at totalbankruptcy.com compared to October 2007, and up 112 percent at totaldivorce.com.

“Infra-Strategy is now profiting from what amounts to basic economics,” the blog says. “When people’s lives fall apart, they hire lawyers.”
