Batman Star Arrested in London

Updated: The London premiere of the latest Batman movie apparently didn't take place quite as scripted.
Christian Bale, the Welsh-born actor who plays Batman in The Dark Knight, was arrested today for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister at a London hotel before Monday's premiere, reports the London Times. Police apparently allowed him to attend the Monday premiere before arresting Bale, who was questioned for several hours today and then released on unspecified bail.
"Bale’s mother and sister, Jenny, 61, and Sharon, 40, made a formal complaint against the Hollywood actor yesterday," the newspaper writes.
However, CNN reports that Bale denies the allegations. According to his publicist, he has not been charged in the case and is cooperating with the police investigation.
