One of the largest minority-owned law firms in the country is acquiring a smaller one, in the latest step in its ongoing growth plan.

Adorno & Yoss, which is headquartered in Miami, will acquire Houston-based Monty Partners before the end of the year, reports the National Law Journal, in an article reprinted by New York Lawyer (reg. req.). The 11-lawyer Latino firm specializes in immigration law, and partner Jacob Monty will head the Adorno firm's new 40-attorney global immigration practice group, along with Miami partner Fernando Socol.

His own small firm joined Adorno just six months ago, the legal publication notes, and the firm also acquired a Seattle firm nine months ago.

The Adorno firm has 270 attorneys in 18 offices in the United States, Mexico and Chile.
