Bork Settles Injury Suit

Failed U.S. Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork has settled his $1 million personal injury suit against the Yale Club in Manhattan.
Terms of the agreement were confidential, the Associated Press reports. Bork, a former federal appeals judge, sued after he fell while trying to climb onto a dais to deliver a speech. He underwent surgery for his injured leg and walks with a limp and a cane, his lawsuit said.
The chief executive officer of the American Association for Justice, Jon Haber, said in a statement that the settlement underscores that all people deserve a chance for justice. "Robert Bork today proved that the civil justice system works even for tort reformers who spent their careers trying to undermine it,” he said.
