A boy has admitted he started one of the California wildfires after playing with matches, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s police.

The blaze, one of 15 major wildfires, destroyed 21 homes.

It is not clear if the youth has been arrested or if his parents will be held financially responsible for the fire, the Associated Press reports. He was released to his parents, and the case will be presented to the district attorney.

Meanwhile police were pursuing about 1,700 tips about a white Ford F-150 pickup seen near the origin of one of the fires, CNN reports.
