The chief diversity and integration officer at Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney has been elected to take over as the firm’s new chief executive officer.
The transition will be lengthy. John Barbour will begin the job next June, taking the place of current CEO Thomas Van Kirk when his term ends, the Am Law Daily reports. The vote for Barbour was unanimous, according to a press release.
Barbour was managing shareholder of Pittsburgh-based Klett Rooney Lieber & Schorling when the firm merged with Buchanan Ingersoll in 2006. His practice focuses on real estate development and financing.
