The national mortgage meltdown is reportedly affecting even major league baseball stars.

Jose Canseco, 43, who retired from MLB in 2001, told Inside Edition he has lost his Encino, Calif., home after the TV show reported that it had foreclosure documents showing he owed $2.5 million on it, reports Reuters.

"I do have a judgment on my home and it to me is very strange because it didn't make financial sense for me to keep paying a mortgage on a home that was basically owned by someone else," Canseco said.
