A Chicago judge who lives a few blocks from Barack Obama in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood was mugged on her front porch the evening before the election.

Judge Eileen Brewer was retained as a domestic relations judge in the next day’s election, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. She told the newspaper she tried to fight off the man, who weighed over 200 pounds.

“He really beat me up,” Brewer told the newspaper. "No broken bones, just Advil injuries. He punched me in the stomach, on the arms, my back. He dragged me across the porch.”

Brewer was apparently no match for the man, who grabbed her purse and ran off down the street. She tried chasing him and yelling, but he got away, the newspaper said.

Like Obama, Brewer is a Harvard law graduate.
