Professionals tend to dress better in a recession, and things are no different in this economic downturn, according to the manager of custom-made clothes at the men’s store Turnbull & Asser.

Manager James Cook talked about his observations in an interview with a guest blogger at Above the Law.

“People are sharpening themselves up again,” Cook said. “Every time that [an economic downturn] happens, people have to get suits and shirts.”

Lawyers are no exception. “The lawyers that we look after, they are buying shirts and ties; they look sharp [because that] is what is expected of them, really.”
