A suburban Chicago prosecutor has received a Christmas card from a convicted killer he is prosecuting for the murder of a 10-year-old girl.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Joseph Birkett told a judge on Tuesday that he received the card from Brian Dugan, now charged with the 1983 murder of 10-year-old Jeanine Nicarico. The Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune both had news of the holiday greeting.

The card featured a rural winter scene, a Christmas wreath and a personal message that Birkett did not disclose.
