CUNY Law Program Encourages Grads to Return to the Hood

The City University of New York law school is encouraging graduates to hang their shingles in underserved communities with an 18-month training program on how to run a law practice.
The sessions, financed by the school and the state, cover how to find clients, keep financial records, and hire and fire employees, the New York Times reports.
Six lawyers are currently in the program, and there is room for two more.
One of the teachers is Laura Gentile, a CUNY law graduate who practices in a small firm. “I will teach them everything from how to analyze and select a malpractice policy, to how to manage their money so they never fall off the edge of doom,” she said.
