‘Damning Picture of Dissatisfaction’ at Australian Law Firms

More than half of the lawyers in private practice in Australia are thinking about leaving their law firms, a survey by a legal recruiter has found.
Among those looking for greener pastures, the Mahlab survey found, roughly one-quarter want to move to bigger firms, one-quarter want to move to smaller firms or boutiques, about 20 percent would like to in-house, and another 20 percent would like to move overseas, reports the Lawyer.
Widespread dissatisfaction about pay and a lack of work-life balance are apparently primary reasons for what the legal publication describes as a "damning picture of dissatisfaction" painted by the survey.
