Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey would get a 43 percent pay raise totaling more than $60,000 over the next four years under a proposal being considered by the city council.

Morrissey makes $145,000 a year and hasn’t gotten a raise in four years, the Rocky Mountain News reports. The proposal calls for him to get $32,000 more next year and another $10,000 each year for the next three years, the newspaper reports in an earlier story.

The council is considering the increase after the state raised the minimum pay for district attorneys to $100,000. The state pays 80 percent of the minimum salary.
