A mega-firm has gone into mega-recruitment mode, luring seven corporate partners laterally from Chicago-based law firms.

DLA Piper's recruitment rampage has reeled in Drew Chapman, as the new chair of the fund services group, from Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, where he headed its fund services practice; Jack Kantrowitz, a corporate finance specialist who was a partner at Sidley Austin; and five partners from Winston & Strawn, reports New York Lawyer (sub. req.), in a reprint of a New York Law Journal article.

The Winston & Strawn contingent also includes Steven Napolitano, who will co-chair his new firm's U.S. private equity practice, Jason Booth, Richard Ginsberg, Christopher Giordano and Brendan Head.

DLA Piper has approximately 3,400 lawyers.
