Ex-Colleagues Say AG Holder Is Aging Before Their Eyes

Former colleagues of Attorney General Eric Holder say he is “working like a dog” and aging before their eyes.
Holder is fielding criticism from Republicans who see him as soft on terrorism and from some Democrats disappointed to learn he is mulling the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate whether CIA interrogators tortured terrorism suspects, the Washington Post reports.
“Always lean, Holder has dropped weight from his lanky frame, as he eats less and climbs five steep flights of stairs to his office in a routine that leaves younger aides breathless,” the Post says. “His dark hair is graying, and his forehead displays new lines. He travels constantly, sometimes boarding an airplane three times a week even as he fends off a persistent sinus infection and a bad back. He struggles with working long hours away from his three children and his wife, prominent D.C. physician Sharon Malone.”
Washington, D.C., lawyer James Cole, who met Holder when the men worked in the Justice Department’s public integrity unit, told the Post that the attorney general is facing issues that are both fascinating and frustrating. “From what I've heard, he's working like a dog," Cole said.
