Fieger’s Dream Team Debuts This Week

The big-name plaintiffs lawyer Jeffry Fieger has called in a couple of other recognizable legal eagles to help defend himself against allegations that he and a partner illegally contributed $127,000 to Democrat John Edwards' failed 2004 presidential campaign.
Representing Fieger will be celebrated Wyoming criminal lawyer Gerry Spence, whose website boasts that he's never lost a criminal case and hasn't lost a civil case since 1969. Rounding out Fieger's dream team will be 58-year-old David Nevin, an Idaho lawyer who the Detroit Free Press notes was tapped this month to help defend Guantanamo Bay detainee Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Fieger's trial, which is set to get under way this week in Detroit, is expected to draw in numerous spectators wanting to get a glimpse of Spence and Nevin in action.
"Gerry Spence is legendary, and it will be interesting to see how he handles himself," says Peter Henning, a Wayne State law professor and former DOJ lawyer.
