The intellectual property law firm Fish & Richardson has disclosed in an internal memo that it is cutting 30 support staffers.

Those being let go are from several administrative departments in eight of the law firm’s offices, according to the memo obtained by Above the Law. The layoffs are "another indication that IP work is not a safe haven during the economic storm," the blog says.

Relying on tipsters, the blog also questioned whether some associates are being let go in “stealth layoffs” said to be performance-related.
