Fried Frank Cuts Administrative Staff

Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson has cut its administrative staff in New York and Washington, D.C.
The firm says the layoffs amount to less than 10 percent of its 730 administrative staffers firmwide, the National Law Journal (sub. req.) reports. The cuts are primarily hitting floating secretaries, part-time assistants, paralegals and library staffers. Severance packages will be paid based on years of service.
Above the Law was first to report the cuts. The law firm submitted a statement to the blog that reads: “Over two years ago, Fried Frank began a review of its administrative resources and staffing requirements. As part of this review process some departments were expanded and others consolidated. Today's administrative staff reductions are part of that business review process.”

Or, to put it differently ... and a bit more honestly, business is off!!
And that is, actually, a good thing!
