Hacker Sentenced to 110 Years for MySpace Threats

A computer hacker who gained remote access to the computers of Florida high school girls with MySpace pages has been sentenced to 110 years in prison for extorting nude pictures from them.

Ivory Dickerson pleaded guilty earlier this year to manufacturing and possessing child pornography and computer intrusion, the Orlando Sentinel reports. He was sentenced in Orlando federal court on Friday.

Prosecutors said Dickerson threatened to harm the girls’ family members or to post nude photos of them on the Internet if they didn’t turn over the photos. He was able to type his threats onto the computer screens of girls with MySpace pages. Assistant U.S. Attorney Roger Handberg told the court that Dickerson’s hacking skills were his “tools of terror.”

FBI investigators looking into the case also found child pornography and videos of Dickerson with teen girls in which he boasted of sexual encounters, the newspaper reports.
