The fiance of hip hop artist Remy Ma erupted in anger after her sentencing yesterday to eight years in prison.

Shamele Mackie, the rapper known as Papoose, cursed and lunged at court officers and overturned a garbage can, the New York Times reports. “Mackie shouted at the guards, ‘Go ahead, lock me up!’ as a group of his friends surrounded him and forced him, flailing and howling, from the courthouse,” the story reports.

Remy Ma is the stage name for Remy Smith, who was convicted of assault for shooting a friend during a dispute over missing cash in her handbag. The judge, Rena Uviller of Manhattan, called Smith “an extremely angry young woman” who believed she didn’t have to play by the rules.
