Law firms may be battling a slowdown in their corporate and securitization practices, but those with health care expertise are girding for more work.

As a result of industry mergers and an expected health-care overhaul by the Obama administration, lawyers with experience in the industries of health care, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices are now hot properties, the National Law Journal reports. The story lists these recruiting moves by law firms in the health care area:

• In April, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius hired 13 lawyers from Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal.

• In April, Proskauer Rose hired two lawyers from McDermott Will & Emery.

• In May, Sidley Austin hired the former acting general counsel of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
