A high-profile Las Vegas criminal defense lawyer has been accused of stealing a necklace from a gift shop at the Sundance Resort in Utah.

Gary Guymon has been charged with misdemeanor theft for the March 24 incident, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports. A surveillance video appears to show a man later identified as Guymon taking a necklace from the mannequin and slipping it into a bag, according to KLAS-TV, Channel 8 in a story published at LasVegasNow.com. The jewelry was valued at less than $300.

The man then filled out three postcards and signed his name as Gary, according to the stories.

Guymon was a well-known prosecutor until 2004, when his name surfaced in an FBI public corruption investigation known as G-Sting. Guymon frequented strip clubs and introduced a county commissioner to an owner of one establishment accused of bribing public officials, authorities said at the time. Guymon joined the public defender’s office in 2004.
