Husson U Hires Dean, 2 Profs for Planned New Maine Law School

News yesterday that Husson University is reviving an earlier attempt to establish a new law school in Bangor, Maine, was followed today by news of three hires for the fledgling facility.
They are: law professor Michael Mullane of the University of Maine School of Law; founding partner Peter Murray of Murray Plumb & Murray in Portland; and Judy Potter, a Cape Elizabeth private practitioner, reports Mainebiz. All three reportedly teach at Harvard Law School, apparently as adjuncts.
Mullane will serve as dean, and starts his new position in August. The school hopes to accept its first class of law students in the fall of 2010, according to Bill Beardsley, the university's president.
Although Husson's earlier effort to establish a law school was rejected by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, the university plans to address the court's concerns and present a new plan this summer in an effort to win approval for its graduates to sit for the state bar exam.
