A Chinese journalist imprisoned for his Internet activities has joined a lawsuit against Yahoo!

Shi Tao was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sending e-mail to a pro-democracy group in the United States. Human Rights USA, which originally brought the lawsuit, contends his arrest was due to information provided by Yahoo! to the Chinese government, according to the National Public Radio News Blog.

Yahoo! has claimed it has to follow the laws of the countries where it operates.
