More lawyers are being laid off at Proskauer Rose after a larger number of cuts in December.

Above the Law reports that Proskauer laid off 23 lawyers yesterday. A law firm spokesman did not respond to the ABA Journal or the National Law Journal when asked to comment and confirm the report.

In December, the law firm laid off 35 associates and 25 administrative staffers.

Proskauer was the only large law firm announcing cuts yesterday, the National Law Journal points out. “Only one major law firm job cut on a given day is relatively good news lately in the legal world,” the publication says. “Four firms axed a total of 800 attorney and staff jobs on Monday, and another three firms cut 220 positions on Tuesday.”
