Jailed for Espionage, Ex-CIA Agent Still Spied for Russia, Prosecutors Say

A CIA agent who pleaded guilty to espionage in 1977 has been indicted on charges that he continued to sell secrets to the Russians from an Oregon federal prison.
The indictment claims that while he was in prison, Harold Nicholson taught his son, Nathan, how to pass secrets to the Russians, the New York Times reports. The information was aimed at helping Russian spies avoid detection and find out how investigators originally learned that Nicholson was selling the identities of CIA agents, the story says.
Evidence in the case includes a notebook kept by Nathan Nicholson that detailed how he communicated with the Russians, federal officials told the newspaper.
