Judge Approves $11M Va. Tech Settlement

An $11 million settlement that was reportedly agreed to several months ago by victims and survivors of last year's shooting massacre at Virginia Tech has now been approved today by a Virginia judge.
"Families of 24 victims—out of 32 killed by Seung-Hui Cho—will be compensated under the settlement approved by Circuit Court Judge Theodore J. Markow. Four families agreed to the settlement, but were not prepared to appear before the judge Tuesday," writes Fox News.
The settlement also includes 18 survivors who were injured in the attack, but no court approval of the amounts they are to be paid was required.
At this point, only two families apparently have filed notices of lawsuits and another two have definitely decided not to seek compensation, according to Fox News.
"Peter Grenier, an attorney for many of the families, called the settlement 'the most acceptable and most reasonable outcome we could expect' in light of Virginia's $100,000 limit on liability in such cases," reports the Associated Press.
Those who settled have waived potential lawsuits against Virginia, the university, local governments that provide services there and a mental-health service provider.

I am looking for a blog or some other venue that would facilitate my education on the topic of Home Owner Associations and how to succeed at bringing them to task.
I was victim to, as my attorney phrased it, “Nasty people who set out to screw you legally and they got away with it.”
VA legistlature was not help and I got no response from the Virginia Bar Association. My attorney(ies) finally told me that I could appeal but I would put their kids through college, buy them a new BMW, and a trip to the Bahamas and still perhaps not succeed.
This sort of behavior sounds like what one would expect from a military junta in some bannana republic, not here in the US.
Any suggestions?
