Judge Scolds Lawyer Litigant for ‘Vitriolic and Venomous Allegations’

A New York family court judge has refused to modify a visitation agreement and scolded the feuding parents, one of whom is a lawyer.
Judge Conrad Singer of Nassau County said the parents had appeared before three different judges in three years to air their disputes, the New York Law Journal reports. He refused a petition by one of them, lawyer Daria Sullivan, to reduce visitation to the father, a former physician.
"The parents have lost sight of the true purpose of these proceedings long ago and appear to be solely interested in ripping the other to shreds," he wrote. "The moving documents in this current proceeding alone dispense such vitriolic and venomous allegations as to make it clear that the parties, the parents, while each claiming to be the true protector of the children's best interests, simply appear to be using the court as a vehicle to attack and demean one another."
