Latham Lawyer Withdraws Army GC Nomination After Work History Flap

Donald Remy has withdrawn his nomination to be Army general counsel after some Republican senators questioned why he left his employment at Fannie Mae off a document detailing his work history.
In his resignation letter, Remy did not disclose why he decided to withdraw his name, according to CQ Politics and FOX News.
Some members of the Senate Armed Services Committee had criticized Remy for stating on an initial work history that he had worked for a "major U.S. company," without elaboration. Remy had worked for the troubled mortgage giant Fannie Mae from 2000 to 2006, and is listed as a partner on the Latham & Watkins website.
Remy had said his failure to list Fannie Mae was an oversight, and he had disclosed his work there in other documents submitted to the Senate committee.
