Several law firms are at the Democratic National Convention to market their practice groups and schmooze.

One lawyer meeting and greeting on behalf of his firm is Scott Martinez of Holland & Hart, the Am Law Daily reports. "We want to make sure our firm has a strong presence at the convention and we're pretty much blocked from 7:30 in the morning to 1:30 in the morning," he told the publication.

Other firms at the convention include:

• Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, which is hosting a brunch at the Ritz Carlton for Vernon Jordan Jr., who is the firm's current senior counsel and a longtime adviser to President Clinton.

• Brownstein Hyatt Farber & Schreck, which hosted a welcoming party at the Denver Art Museum.

• Hogan & Hartson, which is giving away hand sanitizer to use after bouts of handshaking.
