President Bush has chosen a lawyer from Southfield, Mich., to be an alternate delegate to the United Nations General Assembly.

Rodger Young resigned from his firm, Young & Susser, to take the position, but will return as managing partner in early 2008, Crain’s Detroit Business reports.

Young, a native of Great Falls, Mont., told the Great Falls Tribune he is spending his time more productively than in his youth.

“I remember cruising the drag in Great Falls for hour after hour on a Saturday night,” he said. “There wasn’t much else to do.”
