A disbarred New York lawyer who lived just a few doors down from Bill and Hillary Clinton was sentenced today to 25 years for fatally shooting his wife.

Carlos Perez-Olivo, 60, got a lecture from Westchester County Judge Barbara Zambelli before she imposed the maximum sentence.

According to an Associated Press account, Zambelli said, "You are a master of deceit who contrived a diabolical plan to murder your wife for your own financial gain."

Perez-Olivo, a former criminal defense lawyer, was convicted in October of murdering his wife Peggy as they drove home to upscale Chappaqua in 2006. Prosecutors theorized that Perez-Olivo shot his wife for nearly $900,000 in life insurance. He blamed the killing on a carjacker.
