Seeking to address work-life balance issues, the U.K. law firm Allen & Overy is allowing lawyers to trade vacation days.

Lawyers and staffers can sell part of their vacation time back to the firm or can buy extra days. The number of days that can be traded is based on a proportion of salary, Legal Week reports.

A mid-ranking associate with 25 days of annual leave could trade up to five days, the publication says.

Allen & Overy reports on its website that it was named winner of Financial Times’ Most Innovative Law Firm award. The law firm has created two new positions between the level of associate and partner, and has changed its bonus structure that is based on performance rather than experience level.
