Another high-profile lawyer is leaving Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.

Andrew Rossman, the co-chair of the firm’s litigation department, is jumping to Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges, according to the Am Law Daily. Last year, 59 partners left Akin Gump, partly because of a streamlining effort, firm chairman R. Bruce McLean acknowledged in February.

McLean told the Am Law Daily that the latest loss is part of normal attrition, and said only three partners have left since last August. "This is what happens at big firms," he told the publication. "We wish Andy the best, and we'll obviously miss him, but we won't miss a beat.”

Rossman said his move is not related to other partner defections. "This is purely about a great opportunity at Quinn Emanuel," he told the Am Law Daily. “I have nothing but positive things to say about Akin Gump."
