‘Lolita’ Lawyer, an Ex-Cravath Partner, Blames Arrest on AmEx in $4M Suit

The so-called “Lolita Lawyer” who pleaded guilty to charges of statutory rape is blaming his arrest on American Express.
Disbarred lawyer James Colliton, a former mergers and acquisitions lawyer with Cravath, Swaine & Moore, has sued the credit card company for giving police information that led to his 2006 capture in Canada, the Associated Press reports. Colliton claims AmEx violated its customer agreement by releasing the information. The New York Daily News says he is seeking $4 million, while the New York Post puts the figure at $4.9 million.
Colliton was accused of paying a woman to have sex with her teen-age daughters. He pleaded guilty to statutory rape and served 19 months in jail, the Post story says. He sued Cravath earlier this year for unpaid salary and bonus.
