The London law firm Howard Kennedy is studying staffing needs and could cut as many as 50 jobs.

Among those who could lose their positions are up to 20 fee earners, Legal Week reports. The publication calls the study a “redundancy consultation.”

Property partner Paul Springall told Legal Week the move is driven by “economic reality.” The firm currently has 75 partners, 170 lawyers and 335 staffers, according to its website.

The story says several other U.K. law firms are also considering job cuts.
