An NRA-backed bill that allows employees with permits to keep guns in their personal vehicles while at work has been passed by the Florida legislature.
Also supported by some labor unions, as well as the National Rifle Association, the new law, which now goes to the governor for his signature, prevents employers from prohibiting employees from bringing guns to work, reports Reuters.
"The second thing they wrote about in that constitution was the right to bear arms," says state Sen. Durell Peaden, a Republican from Crestview. "It was what was dear in their hearts."

As a supposed “legal” publication, I am in disbelief that you woud print factual inaccuracies relating to black letter law. Yet, I guess that’s standard practice for the Journal.
“...the new law ... prevents employers from prohibiting employees from bringing guns to work….“
That’s a flat out lie. The law allows employers to continue barring licensed, law abiding employees from bringing guns in to work. However, the law prevents employers from prohibiting licensed employees from storing a gun in their vehicle while they are at work.
