David Boies, the Justice Department’s lead trial lawyer in its successful antitrust case against Microsoft, was among the guests at a party last week thrown by the software company and the Atlantic magazine.

The New York Times noted Boies was on the guest list at the dinner in New York’s Plaza Hotel. When he was asked why he was at a Microsoft event, Boies laughed and responded, “We all forgive and we all forget.”

Boies, who served as lead counsel for Al Gore in litigation over the 2000 election, listened to President Bush’s State of the Union address along with other guests, mostly Democrats, the New York Post reports.
