The intellectual property boutique Morgan & Finnegan may be headed toward dissolution after the departure of 33 of its lawyers for Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell.

Lawyers at Morgan & Finnegan say it is likely to dissolve soon, the Daily Journal reports (sub. req.). The boutique has only three partners and 21 other lawyers remaining, according to The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times. No one answer calls at the firm’s offices in New York and California, and a voice mail says the Washington, D.C., office is closed, The BLT says.

Twenty-eight lawyers will join Locke Lord’s New York office, more than doubling its size. Four other lawyers will open a Washington, D.C., office for Locke Lord and one will open a San Francisco office.

Above the Law had reported late last month that Locke Lord had extended offers to several Morgan & Finnegan lawyers.

A press release issued by Locke Lord (PDF) has more details.
