Actor Nicolas Cage, who was dogged by false allegations in Kathleen Turner's memoir, has won a libel action against the actress and the Daily Mail in England.

In her book, Send Yourself Roses, Turner alleged that Cage had twice been arrested for drunken driving and that he had stolen a dog. The allegations were repeated in a Daily Mail story in January, the Guardian reports.

According to the report, the defendants acknowledged there was no truth to the statements and apologized. Corrections will be inserted into Turner's book.

Cage also will recoup all his legal costs and the defendants will make a "substantial donation" to his chosen charity, the National Adult Protective Services Foundation.
